Unleavened

Someone posed the question today:  "Why must we eat unleavened bread at the Lord's table?  Can't we just eat a regular old piece of bread?"  "No!" was the response, "Christ was unleavened!"  I'd never thought of it that way before today, but I found myself nodding my head in agreement.  Christ--though living a life as fully man with all its inherent temptations--managed to resist adding "leaven' to Himself during those 40 days in the wilderness and on every subsequent day thereafter. How did He manage it? He kept his focus in the right direction. During His stay in the wilderness, He showed us exactly where His focus was--on God!
You know, I want to be unleavened like Christ was.  As a human being, I'll have to admit to thinking that this task seems daunting.  My only hope for accomplishing it will be to follow Christ's example--that is, focusing on God. This is my reason for starting this blog "Like A Tree Planted By The Water"--I want to be an unleavened Christian, and--if possible--to help others along on the same journey.
